Women and Girls Fund of Waukesha County

In November 2004, the Board of Directors of the Waukesha County Community Foundation established the Women and Girls Fund of Waukesha County. Distributions from the Fund will be directed toward support of programs and projects that benefit women and girls in Waukesha County.

Objectives:

Atlanta Women's Foundation

The Atlanta Women's Foundation is Georgia's only public foundation focused exclusively on the issues of women and girls. We serve five counties in the metropolitan Atlanta area and our donors, and grantee partners come from all walks of life and from all communities. We represent divergent views and experiences, but we all share one important belief: together, we can increase self-sufficiency among women and girls and accomplish positive social change.

Channel Foundation

The Channel Foundation is a small, private foundation based in Seattle, Washington, USA that promotes leadership in women's human rights around the globe.

Women's Sports Foundation

The Women’s Sports Foundation—the leading authority on the participation of women and girls in sports—advocates for equality, educates the public, conducts research and offers grants to promote sports and physical activity for girls and women.

Founded by Billie Jean King in 1974, the Women’s Sports Foundation builds on her legacy as a champion athlete, advocate of social justice and agent of change. We strive for gender equity and fight discrimination in sports.

Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice

Astraea is a dynamic global foundation providing crucially needed financial support to lesbian-led, trans, LGBTI and progressive organizations.

Separated by continents, language and culture, Astraea grantees are seizing opportunities, and laying the groundwork necessary for women and LGBTI people to claim their human rights.

Astraea staff, board, members and grantees all share a deep commitment to feminist principles, racial and economic justice and human rights.

By Lisa Witter, COO Fenton Communications and Lisa Chen, SVP Fenton Communications

Support the GROWTH Act!

Support Economic Opportunities for Women! Investing in women is a sure way to end global poverty. Women produce most of the world's food yet own only 1 percent of the land. Women are also more likely to spend their income on food, education and health care for their children. Investing in women is the smartest way to impact the reduction of poverty in entire families and communities.

Leveraging Our Shared Assets to Dismantle Poverty

Dismantling Poverty is the collaborative work of the Women’s Funding Network and its member funds to fuel the economic empowerment of women, families and communities. This essential work is done by accelerating women-led solutions to poverty and breaking down systemic inhibitors that keep women in poverty.

Effects of Aging and Health on Women's Economic Security

At the recent, 2008 Women’s Funding Network Annual Conference, an expert panel explored how aging and health intersect with one another and impact the economic security of women. Our panelist made the case for why this is an emerging concern, examining the issue and painting the broader economic and health picture for older women. The consensus following this panel presentation was to continue this conversation.
